NFTs are being integrated into the social network via members’ profile images.

As promised, Twitter Inc. has added NFT compatibility to its social media platform. Users will now post their NFTs to the site and use them as profile photographs.

The impetus for creating this new function stems from Twitter’s outspoken support for original artwork. The firm believes that artists must have a means of displaying their work to the rest of the world.

The NFT support comes with Twitter’s $2.99 monthly subscription product, Twitter Blue, as the program allows users to connect their profiles to their online wallets, where their non-fungible tokens are stored.

The NFT profile photographs will be distinguished from the conventional profile pictures by being shown as a hexagon rather than a circle.

According to the business, the number of NFT-related tweets nearly surpassed 256 million last year, indicating a huge demand among social network users. In June of last year, Twitter produced and marketed its own NFTs.

Crypto enthusiasts and the Twitter community have reacted positively to the new functionality. This is undoubtedly welcome news among the recent ups and downs that cryptocurrencies have experienced.
