Multichain, a DeFi platform, was recently hacked and lost $1.5 million. One of the hackers who stole $200,000, on the other hand, is willing to return ETH to its rightful owner in exchange for a 20% incentive.
Gray Hat, a scammer, defrauded one of the platform’s users by exploiting a smart contract issue. The remaining monies were taken and moved to other wallets. As a result, it’s unclear if the assets were stolen by the same person or by a gang of hackers.
In any instance, the hacker as mentioned above, provided the person who lost the funds an 80 percent refund, which is exceedingly rare. Because the hacker went unanswered, this proposition has gone unnoticed thus far.
It’s also been reported that the MultiChain platform team approached the hackers and asked for all of the stolen monies to be returned. However, there was no response.
Remember that the hack took place on January 17, 2022. Scammers stole money from Crypto.com users on the same day.
