The popular Pinkfong Baby Shark franchise is receiving its blockchain-based play-to-earn (P2E) game, which will be released worldwide in the first part of this year, according to South Korean developer CityLabs.

The Baby Shark Bubble Pong Friends game is described as a bubble-shooter puzzle game in which players transact with cryptocurrencies and tokenize in-game characters and things into non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

CityLabs intends to launch the game’s token and lists it on exchanges within this year’s first quarter.

South Korea prohibits the local distribution of P2E games due to the risk of encouraging speculative behavior.

Local P2E game producers, such as WeMade’s MIR4 on Steam, continue to aim for international success.

With more than 10.12 billion views, the Pinkfong Baby Shark sing-and-dance video presently holds the record for most views on YouTube.
