The University of Cape Town (UCT), one of South Africa‘s premier universities, has announced that a six-week course on Blockchain and Digital Currency will begin in November.

The course is called ‘The Future of Money .’ It will teach students about crypto assets and how to use them to their full potential. Interested applicants must pay a nominal $693 to get a certificate at the end of the course.

To properly educate individuals on digital money, blockchain UCT states on its website that those who complete the short course will have “an understanding of how blockchain technology integrates into existing financial institutions” at the end.

According to the top South African institution, after the training, students will understand how cryptos (Bitcoin, Ethereum) and other crypto-assets may be utilized.

The course also includes instruction on the rapidly developing subject of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and how they affect the financial industry’s future from an emerging market standpoint.

Students will leave the course with increased abilities and up-to-date industry understanding of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, according to UCT, allowing them to take advantage of the opportunities it presents.

Crypto education is becoming more common in classrooms throughout the world

UCT isn’t the first university in the world to offer crypto courses. Other colleges in the United States are following suit. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cornell University, Harvard University, the University of California-Berkeley, and the University of Oxford are just a few universities in the United States that offer blockchain and cryptocurrency courses.

The Georgia House of Representatives adopted a measure in March that would allow schoolchildren in Georgia to learn about cryptocurrencies and other financial literacy classes.

The bill mandates that state education authorities develop a financial literacy study program for high school pupils. The study of cryptocurrency is part of the curriculum.

Cryptocurrency is breaking new ground as it grows in popularity. The fact that technology is taught at colleges suggests that the sector will continue to be developed by experts and aspiring professionals in the present and future.
